This is a time of deep listening, even as we are bombarded by noise, chaos, and harsh edges. We may sense disruptions in ourselves as old stories surface amidst the waves of noise and chaos. Yet, we recognize in the listening a deep part of who we are - that while buffeted about by the storm - is still calm amidst the chaos. Listen from that place.
Journey through the layers of your story, like layers of a scab or scar over each wounding. The storm will continue. Reveal each layer to the light of your compassion. As each layer is revealed and seen it turns from scar to flesh again. You feel into your wholeness as you meet the scattered edges of stories yet unmet or unseen. You feel into the gentle spot that rests under layers of protection that no longer serve.
You recognize the external is only a reflection of the internal. Every response is a message from within. Every trigger, sharp note, or unkindness meets with the layers of the usness of us. The whatness of the form and structures we now inhabit that we call us. But they are facades we have built to navigate this very tender, fraught, and beautiful life.
As we listen deeply - and traverse the layers, the scars, the structures - we begin to hear the clear calling of who we really are. To love, we need to love all of it - including loving ourselves through the disassembling. Self love is universal love. We recognize each other from this deep listening and recognition. This becomes the echolocation where we dance and sing our call and response.
